WELCOME TO THE BOB WILLS SWING SCHOOL!
If you’ve just arrived and want a little background, why not pull off your coat, toss it in the corner and stay a little longer? Here, the mission is to preserve and perpetuate a tradition of musical innovation that was the hallmark of Bob Wills’ career and the key to his legacy.
The Bob Wills Heritage Foundation, Inc. (501c3), in cooperation with the North Central Texas College in Gainesville, TX proudly introduces the first-ever music school to 'swing' to the Bob Wills tradition. We hope you will join us for the inaugural session of the The Bob Wills Swing School this July 27-31! |

| Deep Within My Heart |
The Bob Wills Swing School is a five-day adventure designed for students aged 12 to 17 for whom music is as integral as breathing, who play a musical instrument or sing, know the basics of reading music, are excited about the many disciplines of Western swing, and are eager to play all they know and more.

| Lies a Melody |
The Swing School's unique and jam-packed curriculum is created and directed by bandleader, composer and educator, Dave Alexander, in the tradition of the legendary King of Western Swing. The schedule emphasizes the experience of playing in a swing band and the magic that happens when expression and improvisation are encouraged. Accepted instruments include but are not limited to fiddles, guitars, banjo and mandolin, brass, drums, piano and vocals. If it can swing it will be considered!

The last-day concert, open to the public, is an opportunity for students to perform for an audience and to be recognized for their achievements. An annual Bob Wills All Star Band will be selected!

| Bring It on Down to My House |
The NCTC Gainesville campus features a magnificent state-of-the-art domed theater, ample classrooms, dining hall and campus lodging; and the Swing School staff stands ready to 'play a little longer the Bob Wills way.'
